Description The Garden of NOW is a revolutionary new training tool designed to help you start tapping into the many benefits associated with practicing mindfulness meditation. The DVD includes a collection of several guided mindfulness meditation exercises, which are intended for a wide range of skill levels. For beginner-level viewers, the DVD provides an introduction to mindfulness meditation followed by basic mindfulness exercises. Beginning mindfulness exercises were specially constructed to help viewers form foundational mindfulness skills using familiar sensory experiences (i.e., seeing and hearing) during a guided tour of an intriguing Japanese garden. For those individuals hoping to deepen an existing mindfulness meditation practice, the DVD also includes enhanced audio/visual guidance for the traditional body scan and sitting meditation exercises.
What is unique about this DVD?
Although it may appear overwhelmingly straightforward at first glance, mindfulness meditation can be difficult to grasp. The Garden of NOW was specially developed to address this problem through teaching viewers mindfulness skills in a gradual stepwise fashion. This DVD differs from other training tools in that it takes advantage of the rich audio/visual format of digital video. Both vocal and visual guidance is provided so that viewers are able to engage in an interactive training experience. Traditional mindfulness meditation exercises such as the body scan and sitting meditation are brought to a new level with the addition of on-screen assistance. Visual tracking technology enables viewers to more effectively practice and learn mindfulness techniques. This product is manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply.

Not into this one. August 11, 2010 Harper A. I really wanted to try meditation, but staring at a TV while watching this video was very bad for my eyes, and made my eyes very dry. I can't meditate staring at a bonsai tree or a waterfall on a TV.... I just can't do it...
overly short &simplistic July 1, 2010 bob 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
come on! concentrate on a bonsai tree & the old body scan---they've got to be kidding-this disc needs to be in the dollar tree !!! bob brown oh wait i forgot the "deep" part--if your mind wanders-gently bring it back---to---the ole bonsai tree. how illuminating!!!
MUST HAVE Mindfulness Meditation Training Video! April 29, 2010 Meditate21 (Boca Raton, FL) This is probably one of the best mindfulness training videos out there. The exercises are easy to follow and having the video guidance in addition to the audio track proves to be invaluable. Not only are the garden's waterfalls and bonsai arrangements stunning, but using them to illustrate mindfulness concepts make it super easy for beginners. For those that have more mindfulness meditation experience, the video also includes the traditional body scan and sitting meditation exercises, which comes with a nifty on-screen tracking tool to assist you in maintaining focus. Overall, this video is a must have for anyone looking to start or enhance a mindfulness meditation practice!

I work in the health care profession as a dentist. The latest discussion in our field is overall systemic health. I understand the importance of the mind body connection and improvements in systemic health such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and even smoking. This dvd has helped me learn mindfulness and recommend it to my patients.
